Introduction to a new series on AI and its ecosystem
I mentioned in a recent note that I was working on a new series on the AI ecosystem. This is the first post. It is an introduction: what the series is, what it is not, and why it is worth your time.
A lot has already been written about AI. Some of it is breathless (AI will cure cancer, end work, write the next great novel). Some is dire (AI will take your job, hollow out the truth, end democracy). A great deal of it is technical, written by engineers for other engineers. A great deal more is written for executives looking for slides to put in front of their boards.
This series is none of those. It is written for the rest of us. People who already use AI without thinking about it (or who suspect they should be using it more), who read the headlines and cannot tell hype from substance, who run businesses or careers that AI will touch in ways no one can fully predict, and who would rather understand what is happening than be told what to believe about it.
